I have had several clients ask if they should wait to start their summer travel plans. Fall and winter are a great time to start planning your next vacation. As you get back into the swing of the post-summer routine, put some thought into where you want to go. Planning now is beneficial for several reasons.
Where Do We Start?
The two most important things to determine is where you want to go and how much you want to invest in your travel experience. A budget range will give us an idea of what level of comfort in travel and accommodations you have in mind. Don’t worry, we’ll talk with you about your wants and needs before we provide you with any quotes. Once you have those narrowed down, we can work on finding just the right travel supplier and itinerary particular to your needs.
Don’t Be Forced to Settle
The early bird catches the worm. Last-minute flash sales certainly have their benefits. However, you often are filling in the few spaces available for a particular date range. If you want to be sure to get the room with a swim=up patio or tickets for a sunset cruise tour, waiting until the last minute may lead to disappointment, as they may be sold out. Book early while you have a great selection of options to choose from.
By booking six months or more out from your trip, you can take advantage of early booking promotions. Among some of the things travel suppliers offer are reduced fares, room upgrades, bonus credit for use on cruise ships or in the resorts. So, think about where you want to go, six to nine months from now. With the extra time, we can make sure you’re getting the best value for your budget.
Payment plans available
While you can pay up front, many people don’t want to pay for their vacation in one lump sum and prefer providing a deposit to make payments toward their vacation. Deposits and payment plans do vary based on destinations and resorts/cruise lines used. You can create a travel savings account with your bank to pay prior to final payment is required or make payments monthly. Your travel agent can help sort out the details for you and will keep track of deadlines for payments.
Peace of Mind
Once you have booked your trip, you can relax and have the relief that your summer trip is already planned. Take this time to think about what kind of activities you want to enjoy at your destination. Your travel agent will provide you with some popular options for your destination as the travel dates approach but you can also research attractions, dining or entertainment that may interest you.
Get a jump on those summer travel plans, so you won’t be facing a last minute rush. Start by filling out a Travel Profile form, so we have some basic information on your wish list. After we review the form, we’ll contact you to discuss any fine-tuning on your travel preferences, so we can create itineraries suited just for you.
